Nelly and Belle

Cassie, Moxie and I have been a bit out of the blog loop lately!  The weather has finally warmed up and we are outside as much as possible, training for the Susan G Komen 3-Day for the Cure walk that is coming up here in Boston in July.  Cassie and Moxie are great walking buddies, and tired dogs are always good dogs.  We’ll be back though as more toys cross our paths.

Meanwhile, we received this email report from Jeff and Margaret H in Leavenworth, KS about the durability of the Cesar Millan 3-Ring Rope Toy:

“We are the proud owners of a pair of German Shepherd pups, Nelly and Belle (a little tribute to Roy Rogers). Got them a week ago and they just turned 8 weeks old today. We follow Cesar Millan on-line and on TV and thought we had discovered the perfect toys when we saw his products. Purchased the 3-ring rope pull toy and the covered water battle chew toys. While the water bottle toy with its ruff-tuff cover is taking a licking and keeps on ticking, the rope toys literally bit the dust in just a matter of days. Who says puppy teeth ain’t sharp! And shame on you Cesar for putting out a product that was not puppy proof.”

We have not personally reviewed this toy, but are interested in getting your feedback on this and any other toy in your dog’s toy box.

Those are two seriously cute puppies. They could chew on me if they wanted and I don’t think I’d care.

Nelly and Belle are so cute – I just want to rub their little puppy bellies!

I hear you on the spring weather – we’ve spent as much time as possible outside, too, which leaves less time for everything else!

I’ve been neglecting my blog too…….loving spring time too. Wonderful that you are doing Walk for the cure!

Why am I not surprised that a dog product promoted by an actor is not of high quality?
    🙂

The two Shep pups are adorable!!

I haven’t had much luck with that toy either. Recently I adopted a 4 year old coonhound. She isn’t much of a chewer, has the softest Kong possible and the low-strength nylabone too and she barely puts a dent in either. Got her the rope toy thinking she might prefer material and expecting that a Cesar Millan product would be built to last. It didn’t. Mine looks similar to the one pictured above after just a few days and very little chew time. Once the stuffing starts coming out, it’s garbage. What a waste!

I just bought this toy today thinking with a name like Cesar Milan backing the product, it would be a sturdy toy. It is not. It only took my dog Paisley a matter of moments to nip out the stuffing exposing the squeaky part and having it hanging from her tooth. I am very glad I was there to supervise her when this happened since this was a toy I was going to use in her crate wile I was away from home. I bought 2 other toys of his that I am going to return first thing in the morning.
